Ensign scriptures and teachings of the prophets provide a context for the academic subjects. Language arts instruction is based on the scriptures. Classic literature is also used for reading comprehension and the writing process. The sciences are taught based on the creation, and are introduced in the order of Ihe seven creative periods. History and geography are taught in an order that reflects the spread and development of the Gospel through the ages. The Mission and Purpose mission is accelerated academic instruction within a successful and productive to provide environment where the Spirit of the Lord can be present. The Spirit increases a student's ability to learn, remember, and apply knowledge. We apply principles of education gleaned from the scriptures and from the teachings of the latter-da- y prophets and apostles.
