December 2, 1998 - Page 4 'Nutcracker' ballet to begin Sub for Santa needs volunteers a program Sub-for-San- that provides Christmas gifts to children of homeless and families, is looking for sponsors to give an unforlow-inco- gettable Christmas to Utah County children. This program is unique because it focuses specifically on providing gifts for the children in these families while providing training for the parents. Applicants attend a workshop where they learn how to make Christmas gifts, how to make wise budgeting decisions and how to incorporate traditions into their Christmas celebration. "Our program matches sponsors with families in need," said Jenn Kilstrom, coordinator of the Utah County program. "Once matched, the sponsors contact the parents of the families to confirm sizes and ages of the children in the families and to coordinate their gift giving." "We ask that sponsors give at least two new clothing items, two new toys and one book for each child in the family," Kilstrom said. The program is looking for businesses, individuals, church groups, clubs, school classes or anyone else who is willing to help a family this Christmas. Sponsors have the option of being anonymous donors or, if circumstances permit, donors may meet the children for whom they are providing the low-co- st 374-810- Blaine Thomas Utah Regional Ballet will Guest artists for the. perform its 17th season of production are RichardBradley, Nutcracker at BYU's de Jong Nevada Ballet Theater; and Concert Hall on Dec. 11, 12, 17, Jiang Qu, Ballet West. 18 and 19 at 7:30 p.m., with Returning as Herr matinee performances at 2 p.m. Drosselmeyer will be Michael portatlon and are also given a meal while volunteering. Lately my teeth have been sensitive to cold. What could this be? A. If you started using a c4 tartar-contr- toothpaste, that might be the culprit. The tartar-contragent in some toothpastes can cause sensitivity. Your best bet is to try another toothpaste for several weeks and see if the sensitivity subsides. It may not be the toothpaste, however. Anytime the dentin (the layer just below the surface of the teeth) and roots are exposed, it can result in sensitivity. It can be caused by worn enamel, small cracks in the teeth or overly ambitious brushing. If you suspect it's the brushing, switch to a soft bristle brush and brush with a gentle up and down motion. A cavity in the tooth may also be the cause of sensitivity. If it's not a cavity, most sensitivity will go away in time. If the sensitivity persists, see your dentist. for the article next week on Look Tooth Grinding For More Information or For an Appointment Call: Dr. Michelle Jorgensen 325 E. 100 N., Lehi 768-947- CROWN MOULDING FIXTURE ITHATV OMLVIi & jjFAN 6.40 Lighting Cq)-- 7 24" 4 LIGHT SOLID OAK BATH BAR ECH ttCK (630271) HALO 1 w 4 4 LIGHT Hi i jr.. information. qq -- 060 090 $21.96 more for 14.94 5 There are still a few seats available for the Seniors Rose Parade tour Dec. 28 through Jan. 3.
