Jex of Provo has i Hied with the County Recorder a notice of appropriation ef all the waters in Spanish Span-ish Fork river for the generation of electric- current for light and power. The place of Intended use Is at a point on the Spanish Pork river about one-half mile below the head of the Salem ditch, where the power plant will be located. The water wa-ter will be diverted about three miles above the mouth of Spanish Fork canyon ana conveyed to the power plant through a flume nix feet wide and four feet deep aad through a pipe six feet In diameter. SPRINGVILLE: William GCes, one of the oldest residents of Springvtlle. died at hw home yesterday. . Deceased was 82 years of age. PARK CITY: City Marshal John Canty Can-ty ot Park City closed all tne gambling houses yesterday and served notice on the saloons that from now on they will have to observe the Sunday closing laws. On account of the range being In poor condition this winter, the flocks were forced to strike off into the hills, where, before the snow came, quite fair feed was found. As a rule such place as these are not used for ranges in winter time, on account of the risk incurred in-curred In getting snowed In, but as the flocks were on tne verge of starvation a good many took this risk, with the remik . that they are unable to move on account of deep snow. |
