Rees Elementary school was built in and was a '. replace-; replace-; ment for the old Rees School, which was too small and too old to use any longer. It is located E art of Spanish Fork and as about 525 kids, 65 employees, em-ployees, and is still growing. grow-ing. The school has classes for preschool to fifth grade, but the unique thing about this school is it offers a new multi-age class which consists con-sists of kids from third to fifth grade in the same classroom with the same teachers. This system helps the teacher to determine where a student should be, and whether the things they are learning are on the appropriate appro-priate level for them. Jordan says that while interning in-terning at the school he has Jordan Allison in the eastern learned a lot, both from the teachers and the students as well. One thing in particular partic-ular that Jordan has learned is that you must give the children specific instructions, or they will not do what you want them to. They will also find loopholes loop-holes in your directions if they are not clear enough. Jordan also says that if you are nice to the kids and befriend them, they will be-, friend you and are more likely to follow your instructions in-structions if they trust you. , Jordan has also had the opportunity op-portunity to work with special spe-cial education students, and says that it is very rewarding. reward-ing. Jordan says, "When I was growing up, I always wanted to be a pro athlete and never thought about being a teacher. Now I realize real-ize that what I want to do is help people, namely kids. They are so energetic and they always bring the best out of every situation. I want to help them learn and grow and shape them into productive people. I want them to be great citizens." citi-zens." At the unique clothing outlet, Teralin learned many things about small businesses. She said,s "Now I know how things are ordered, and how to make reasonable profit." She learned more about how to put "together cute outfits, and work well with customers." She says that Jackson's Hole sells women's clothing for ages six and up. From junior ju-nior to missy and even "grandma styles," they have it all. Sometimes even hus-bands hus-bands come in to shop for their wives. Jackson's Jack-son's Hole is owned Teralin Petereit bY Steve Student interns at video production company SHS student Katie Loveless Love-less is an intern at Mike Chenoweth's Mudpuppy Creative. Cre-ative. Mud- puppy Creative Cre-ative is an in-dependent in-dependent video production pro-duction company com-pany that does projects ranging from putting together a high school football movie to putting together a commercial commer-cial for a national company. An independent video production pro-duction company has many needs and needs many specialized spe-cialized people to carry out Katie Loveless those needs. Katie is the photographer pho-tographer for the company and does all the things with still photography that Mike needs. Mike has only one employee, employ-ee, and one photographer intern, in-tern, Katie. All the other people peo-ple that are needed to com- Klete a project for a client are ired by contract, and are used only for a short period of time. All the post filming work is done by Mudpuppy Creative itself. Katie says that working with Mike and seeing what he does is very fascinating. After that, the building was renovated, and then Jerry's wife, Jan, ran the store and has been running it "for the last nine years!" She said, "Being my own boss is very important to me, and owning a store is a way to do it. Boys Swim Yard Butterfly, Mike Buzbee finished 5th with, a time of 54.79. Bryant Taylor finished 3rd with a time of 49.83 and Taylor Cooper finished 17th with a time of 53.81 in the Mens 100 Yard Freestyle Eric Buzbee placed 3rd in 1 the Mens 500 Yard Freestyle - with at time of 5:05.64 with Bronzson Woods in 9th (5:16.54), Tim Call in 21st (5:42.68) and Dan Box in 24th (5:57.10). The Mens 200 Yard Freestyle Relay, consisting of Taylor Cooper, Mike Buzbee, Eric Buzbee and Bryant Taylor finished 3rd with a time of 1:33.58. Mike Buzbee finished 4th in the Mens 100 Yard Backstroke Back-stroke with a time of 56:89 and Tim Call finished 22nd with a time of 1:03.80. In the Mens 100 yard Breaststroke, Tyson Stark finished 4th with a time of 1:05.18 and Alex Behnke finished 9th (1:06.22) and Daniel Simmons finishing 11th (1:06.47). In the final event, the Mens 400 Yard Freestyle, consisting of Taylor Cooper, Bronzson Woods, Daniel Simmons and Eric Buzbee finished 5th with a time of 3:30.47. Springville finished with 246 points, tied with the Orem Tigers. Murray High School took first with 288.50 points. The Girls Swim team also did well at the State 4A Championship meet, with 172.50 points, finishing 4th behind Timpview, East and Mountain Crest. In the Womens'200 Yard Freestyle, Trachelle Tanner took 9th with a time of 2:09.21 and Mindy Workman' finished 13th with a time of 2:13.29. Heather Wolz finished fin-ished 9th with at time of 2:26.57 in the Womens 200 Yard Individual Medley, with Christine Vaughn fin ishing 10th (2:27.29) and Danika Tata finishing 16th (2:31.76). In the Womens 50 Yard Freestyle, Whitney Prusak finished 5th with a time of 26.82, with Katrina Walser 12th (27.41) and Annie An-nie Williams 17th (27.99). Danika Tate finished 3rd in the Womans 100 Yard Butterfly But-terfly with a tirrfe of 1:06.64 and Katrina Walser placed 17th with a time of 1:12.58. Whitney Prusak placed 8th in the Womens 100 Yard Freestyle with a time of 59.14. In the Womens 500 Yard Freestyle, Trachelle Tanner placed 6th with a time of 5:48.35 with Mindy Workman placing 12th (5:59.57) and Drew Duncan 13th (6:09.12). The Womens 200 Yard Relay Re-lay team consisting of Whitney Whit-ney Prusak, Danika Tate, Trachelle Tanner and Katrina Katri-na Walser finished 4th with a time of 1:49.50. Christine Vaughan placed 9th in the Womens 100 Yard Backstroke Back-stroke with a time of 1:07.07 and Kristal Williams placed 18th with a time of 1:10.28. In the Womens 100 Yard Breaststroke, Heather Wolz placed 12th with a time of 1:18.39.
