Show War Department Reports Mt. Pleasant Youth As Missing Since Dec. 10 Word has been received here from the War Department that Jaimies Kennetlhi Sorensoro, 2.2-year-old son. of Mr. and Mrs. Harold Sorensen of this city, has been, repor.ied missing since Deo.mber 11), 1941, following a bombing raid (while (his- ship the U. S. S. Pillsbury was in the Manila Navy Yard, Philippine Isvand'j. "Jimimy" as he iwas called, joined the Navy in Salt Lake in November 1939. He left im-imiediia'iKy im-imiediia'iKy ifor San Diego, Calif or-mda, or-mda, and was entered ifor .training .train-ing on November 11, 1939. He was first assigned to the Savannah, Savan-nah, cnuiser, later to the John Edwards destroyer. He was on duty on the U. S. S. Pillsbury des.royer at .;he time of its bomlbing. Jimmy uas bonn. March. 19, 1920 in Axtell, but has lived all his life in Mt. Pleasant where he attended' the .North Sanpete high school. He is 'the first en-list.d en-list.d man from this community to be reported as missing. |
