Show Grudge 2 sells tickets not scares 1 Jared Maxwell Movie writer No grudge is to be in store for Sony pictures The film company made over 20 million this past weekend with The Grudge 2 but moviegoers might feel otherwise The Grudge sequel is much better than the first The movie had more thriller scare tactics but it easily leaves everyone scratching their heads with witha a confusing plot The Grudge 2 starts off with some random scene of prep school girls in Japan The girls return to the house where all the previous horror events had taken place Not until its it's too late do these girls realize that they have taken the curse with them outside of the house That little creepy croaking lady is now just following those poor girls around terrorizing all of them Not only did the creepy lady follow these prep girls but the curse of the whole family seemed to follow everybody that came into contact with the rage from the cursed Japanese family Somehow the story transpires from Japan to Chicago where random people in an apartment complex start offing each other due to some extraordinary rage that has taken place among them This was not at all entert entertaining ning 1 All of the rage among amog the characters did not make any sense at all It was so hard nard to to follow along with what was going on in the movie Some advice to the writers would be to not tie in three storylines from so many characters' characters points of view The Grudge 2 had way too many stories to follow Its It's like if all the stories I from the Twilight Zone were tied together The Grudge 2 finally evolves into the story about the sister of Karen Davis Sarah Michelle Gellar Cellar Aubrey Amber Tamblyn but it is not like that could even to save the movie either Watching the previews one might think that Aubrey Davis is trying to solve the curse that she really had nothing to do with It was nice to see the beautiful Sarah Michelle Geller on the screen but the second she died so did the entire movie movie The Grudge 2 went through so many tense scenes where the audience tries to guess what will happen next This only added to the mass confusion felt while watching the film During the film there were little scare scenes where some big loud shriek would try to scare the audience Next a different scene would depict a person dying because she angered the croaking dead lady The vacant suspense scenes were vere too numerous creating an awful sense of d deja j vu Throughout The Grudge 2 scenes kept bouncing around from one time to another or from characters in one country to another It was just too much like the first film with a dim plot and misplaced storytelling If screenwriter Stephen h had d tried to make the stor stora story a bit easier to follow then quite possibly The Grudge 2 would have been easier to watch As for future films maybe Sony should just end the story of the cursed Japanese family with the second installment The Grudge 2 is rated PG |
