His serious pursuit of photogaphy started in Ogden when he bought his first 35mm camera and started prowling the local mountains for images. A love of the outdoors has allowed him to develop a keen eye for capturing wildlife in their natural settings. His career in the U.S. Army kept him moving about a lot, but he finally returned to Utah in 2005 to refocus his energies on his photography. Jimmy has recently converted to digital photography as he feels it gives him better control of the total process required to produce a quality image to share and enjoy with others. This wonderful exhibition will be on display at the Ogden Valley Branch Library from March | through March 30. For more information about this event, please call 745-2221. Celtic Beat Irish Dancers of Layton is sponsoring an Irish Ceili on Saturday, March 17, to celebrate St. Patrick’s Day. An Irish Ceili is the traditional Gaelic social dance in Ireland, Scotland, and Atlantic Canada. The public is invited to come and learn Irish Dancing and enjoy light refreshments. The Irish Ceili will begin at 7:00 p.m. at East Layton Elementary School. The school is located at 2470 E. Cherry Lane, west of Highway 89, in Layton. Kindergarten Round Up Once again it is time for Kindergarten Round Up at Valley Elementary. It will be held on April 4, 2007 at 2:00 p.m. This meeting is for all children who will be 5 years old on or before September 1, 2007 and their parents. If you have a child who is eligible for kindergarten this fall, and you have not received a kindergarten packet, please call the school at 452-4180, or come in a fill out a registration paper and pick up a kindergarten packet. It is important that you receive this packet as soon as possible so that n make all the necessary doctor’s appointments for your child. Your child’s original birth certificate will be required for enrollment. It is important that we have an accurate count of kindergarten students to ensure that we have the proper amount of ee in place for the coming school year. This process begins early in the wee, so please register your kindergarten student today. Any student who was not of kindergarten age for the 2006-2007 school year and who wants to enter first grade for the 2007-2008 school year, will be assessed at Valley Elementary for developmentally age-appropriate academic, social, and emotional skills. for public school last year, please contact the office.
