Ralph Vanderlin-deLehi resident for several years and music instructor at the Lehi High School is serving with the U. S. Air Force at the Medina Air Force Base, near San Antonio, Texas. He is assigned to a minimum of four years duty and plans to follow the Air Force as a career. He will serve in the department of education and trainingn, , -Mr. Vanderlinden has been the instrumental music instructor for the past two and a half years at the Lehi High School, and has also handled the vocal groups during the current school season. He has also taught some social studies and the German language. He has been a sergeant in the National Guard for the past ten years. He graduated from the University of Utah with a major in Music Education. He played string bass, flute and piccolo and was affiliated with Kappa Kappa Psi, honorary band fraternity. He had continued his studies at the University of Utah toward attainment of his Master's degree, in Educational Psychology. Mr. Vanderlinden, who left the high school staff at the end of December, reported that he has enjoyed his time spent in Lehi and that he has been associated with many fine people here. Active in the IDS Church organizations, he served as Stake MIA music director in Lehi. He has directed a very successful fund raising camof paign with the cooperation band students working toward the purchase of new uniforms. His wife, the former Doris Pedro and baby Eric, a year and a half old, who are residing in Mid-val- e, will join him at a later date.
