No Room Shortage On Weekends, Says Garfield Council The Garfield Travel Council is seeking to dispel the myth that no rooms arc available in the county on weekends. For some reason, a spokesman said, the work has gotten got-ten out that rooms are impossible to obtain on weekends in Garfield County, home of Bryce Canyon National Park. In some cases, rooms have remained re-mained empty on weekends but motels have been filled to capacity during the week, the exact opposite of what has often been true in years past. The addition of many new rooms by area motels has made availability at almost anytime a near certainty, and the county's new "800" toll-free reservation number has proven to be a great success. By dialing 800-444-6689, the county's central reservations number, num-ber, would-be visitors to the area can be informed of available rooms throughout the area and make their choice. Instituted for the first time this year by the Garfield County Motel Owners Association, the toll-free number has proven to be a big help both to those seeking rooms and to die motel owners.
