alumni William (Bill) Cottle as part of his MA program Cottle used yearbooks photos and histories of USU to put together the 584 slides “This will provide nostalgic glimpses from the past” Parrish' said relations High school principals and counselors will be included in recruiting students and coordinating activities with USU alumni Two alumni will be contacted in each school with at least two months notice allowed The presentation will include on intramurals sections boy-gistudies Homecoming rl students from Bountiful high will come to USU at 4:30 pm and take a tour of the campus including the HPER Building UC and Old Main by J Lyn “Swede” Larson assistant to the Vice President for Student Affairs February Students will then go to the Alumni House north of the Spectrum and eat a box second annual Temple 15 Kilometer Ski Competition will be held on February 22 The first com- Peak petitor is scheduled to cross the starting point at approximately 10:30 am This is sponsored ski competition jointly by the USU Har- monious Living Center and the Army ROTC Department at the University The length of the course is 15 kilometers (approximately 93 miles) The course begins at Bear Lake Summit in Logan Canyon at an elevation of 7800 feet and over a distance of approximately 6 kilometers rises to an elevation of 8280 feet It then drops to an elevation of 6200 feet at the finish over a distance of 9 kilometers for a total elevation drop of 2080 feet The course ends in the vicinity of the USU Forestry Camp near the Tony Grove turn off in Logan Canyon Last year approximately 70 people participated in the event ranging in age from 10 to over 60 More participants are expected this year It is requested that competitors register with J J Platt at the Harmonious Living Center Ext 7658 or Tom Dyson at the Military Science Building Ext 7917 However or 7940 preessential is not registration to participate Competitors may register at the starting point No entrance fee is charged That evening USU will play Denver in the Spectrum and these students during half-tim- e will be recognized Between 15 and 30 students will attend with the Alumni Association “Costs for this program will be about $150 per student which is considerably less than traveling to the various schools throughout the state” Parrish said Another recruitment program is planned with Box Elder High School on
