Ogden Man Faces Car Death Charge - Third Circuit Judge Stanton Taylor has ordered Freddie Lopez of Ogden bound over to Second District Court to stand trial on automobile homicide charges in of a Weber County the death man. The judge Thursday ordered Lopez, 36, of Odgen to appear in the district court Aug. 20 for arraignment and pleading on the lelony homicide third-degre- e charge. Utahns Admit Unemployment Fraud SALT LAKE CITY (UPI) -- Three Utahns have pleaded guilty to federal criminal of defrauding the state out of more than $7,000 in unemployment benefits. The U.S. Attorney's Office said Leland R. Mitchell, Irene L. Mitchell and Farrell V. Larson, all of Salt Lake City, were involved in a fraud scheme that "is not uncommon and costs federal and state governments charges millions of dollars annually." Officials said the Mitchells bilked the Utah Department of 0 Employment Security out oi when neither was eligible for unemployment benefits. Under the scheme, Mitchell caused his paychecks to be made out to his wife, who was unemployed. Then he applied for and received $4,282 in unem$7,-47- ployment benefits, officials said. Price Man Dies in Nevada Mishap WINNEMUCCA, Nev. (UPI) A Price man was one of two people killed in a truck rollover near Winnemucca Wednesday, state police said. John Armstrong, 22, of Price, died at Washoe Medical Center from injuries received when he was thrown from the pickup as it overturned 24 miles east of here. The other man killed was Frank Williams, 38, of Reno. He was also thrown from the truck. Woman Admits Manslaughter Guilt SALT LAKE CITY (UPI) next week for a pre-trihearing. Schwendiman said the state asked Winder to dismiss a petition filed for the convicted killers on the grounds that "the record and the law" is enough to decide the case. "Look, it's been 10 years," Schwendiman said. "Our position is that all the issues can be decided on the record and the law." The case has been through at least a half dozen appeals. Winder granted Selby and Andrews an evidentiary hearing on certain areas the company is allowed to earn a 15 percent return but it wants 16 percent profit. The company must be able to offer investors the opportunity to get a competive return commission reach a final decision by Jan. 1. Mountain Fuel spokesman Curt Burnett said the company is asking the commission to allow it to make a bigger profit.
