Show GEDflR GUY HAPPEWHGS . Ist you forget this is Valentine's Day. PosBiWy the children have re- i minded you. Mrs. Emily Haight was operated on Tuesday for female troubles, at the Macfarlane Hospital. Dan Parker was operated on Tuesday Tues-day for the removal of a bullet from his foot, at the Macfarlane Hospital. Mrs. Francis Dalton and Vera Pratt were operated on at the Macfarlane Hospital Monday for the removal of tonsils. The following births were attended this week by Dr. Bergstrom: To. Mr. and Mrs. John Davis Saturday, a boy; to Mr. and Mrs. George Hunter Wednesday, Wed-nesday, a boy. Mrs. William Elliker had the misfortune mis-fortune to sever one of the arteries in her left wrist Thursday. She was taken to the Macfarlane Hospital, where the wound was dressed and she is now getting along nicely. I Do you know, a bargain when you see it? Look. over. our soap display. ' Creme Olive, 10c. a cake, 12 for $1.00; Palmolive 10c. a cake. The cut rate stores in Salt Lake don't beat these i prices.--Cedar City Drug Co. i - .14.1 . W. Kohwedder and Austin A. Wy-att, Wy-att, two capitalists of Ixis Angeles, California, were in Cedar City the first of the week looking over lands and other opportunities for investment. invest-ment. And still we fail to see any activity in the matter of surfacing Main street. Has Cedar City lost her "pep" and pride as a result of the "flu" and the town being closed up so long? We trust not. And now is the time to push this work, if it is going to be done this winter. There was another light fall of snow Tuesday night and Wednesday morning, but not enough to add very materially to our next summer's sup-' ply of water, which still looks rather unpromising. The snow storm was . preceded by a heavy wind from the southwest. ----Mr. and Mrs. L. W. Joins are home again, after thai trull ta Denver, Colorado, and to Bluff City, Utah. Thev report a verv pKvisunt trip. Dr. Macfarlane states that he will leave here for his course of study in the East i time to attend the con-1 gross of the League of Nations to be hel.l in Salt Lake City on the 22nd and 23rd of this month, and will go from there to Boston, where he will enter a hospital for three months of special work. After behaving admirably practically practic-ally all winter, the local electrical plnnt has "thrown up its tail" the last two mornings, and apparently has been about fagged out, not supplying sup-plying enough "juice" to heat the metal on our Linotype machir'! until noon or after. Very unbecoming conduct, con-duct, particularly on press day, and as a result the paper is a few hours late. Perhaps the old "hoss" heard that its owners were figuring cr. helling hell-ing it and lost heart. - Due to her efficiency as a clerk and complete knowlcde of the various forma and technicalities of the draft board work, Mrs. Kass Jones received a telegram from the Adjutant General at Salt Lake City to report there Tuesday Tues-day morning to assist in the closing up of tho Draft Board work for the state. It was remarked by one of the staU! officials while here some time ago that the records of Iron county were in excellent shape, in fact, as good or better than any in the state. These records are now closed up and ready for inspection, crating and delivery. G. B. Williams of Kanarra was in town Tuesday. He reported a very successful rabbit hunt at Kanarra last week, in which some 1200 or more of the pests were slain. Mr. Williams said, however, that they did not get in touch with the California market and no attempt was made to market the flesh of the animals, as many of the people in the western part of the j county have been doing. |
