Show aged resident passes Is buried tuesday thesda y funeral services were held at 3 tuesday afternoon in the west ward chapel lor for louisa 92 year old resident of this community who passed away early monday morning at her home here of causes incident to age she had been in poor health for years and had been bed fast for some time before the end came the services were conducted by bishop T wendell bayles and commenced with the combined choirs of both wards singing that beautiful land under the direction of zona P with della delia marsden at the piano the opening pray er was offered by joseph stevens after which the choir sang how gentle gods commands silas J ward was the first speaker and after his talk two granddaughters kathleen and claudia sang the end ot of a perfect day with zona at the piano barbara M adams and luella R adams were the next speakers with closing remarks bv bishop bayles the choir sang abide with me as its closing number and the closing prayer was offered by john P orton at the cemetery the grave was dedicated by george S ley pallbearers Pall bearers were six grandsons wimmer smith elwood and cla r and morris and clayton Clayt and the flowers were in charge of several grand daughters louisa haddon was born may 19 1849 a daughter or of alfred sidney and sarah carter haddon she married peter in june 1867 and to them five children were born four of which survive her mr died about bout fifty years ato ago leaving her to rear rear her family alone she suffered all the hardships of pioneer ilfe both in parowan carowan and panguitch where she has resided practically all her life she was a faithful member of the L D S church and as long as she was able worked in the various church organizations being especially active in the relief society the surviving children are t and john and mrs john T of this city and joseph R of delta she is also survived by 36 grand children 4 59 great grandchildren and 3 great great grandchildren |
