Show LAKE VIEW MAN IS INJURED IN BALL GAME Spencer Madsen Struck With Bat and Suffers Concussion Of the Brain While playing baseball with a group of young men from the Lake View ward "Wednesday evening, Spencer Madsen, 30, second counselor coun-selor to Bishop W. W. Taylor, met with a serious accident when be was struck in the bead with a bat wielded by James Lee. Madsen was playing the position of catcher when Lee went up to bat. He gave an extra heavy swing at the ball and the end of his bat struck Madsen over the right ear. knocking him to the ground. He was taken to his home in a semiconscious semi-conscious condition. He had a bad night and early this morning a physician phy-sician was summoned. Examination indicated that Mr. Madsen is suffering suf-fering from concussion of the brain and possible fracture of the skull. This, however, has not been definitely defin-itely determined. His condition this morning was regarded as serious, and he was still in a state of coma. Mr. Madsen is one of the popular young men of Lake View, and spend young men of Lake View, and spends as much of his time as possible pos-sible in the development of recreation recrea-tion among the young men of that community. At the time of the terrific snow-slide snow-slide in Provo canyon about four years ago, in which two men were killed. Mr. Madsen was trapped and narrowly escaped being buried in the avalanche of snow. ". |
