Show Business Mews Pediatrician opens new practice in American Fork Visiting the doctor may seem as comfortable as going to Grandma's house with the opening of a new medical practice in American Fork. Dr. Renae Holland, with her extensive background as a board certified pediatrician, as well as grandmother to 21 children herself, loves children and it shows. Even the decor at her new offices, called KidsKare Pediatrics, invites young patients to be comone room features a dog fortable Conservatory, after which she obtained a teaching certificate and taught biology and chemistry in high school. When she and her husband, Ken, who owned a chain of supermarkets in the Calgary area, decided to move to Utah, she enrolled at Brigham Young University, where she became a registered nurse and went on to Highland Rodeo Queen contest slated There will be a contest for the Highland Fling Rodeo Queen held June 7. The queen will represent the community during the Highland Fling Days and ride her horse in all the local parades and the Days of '47 horse parade. Sponsors are being sought for the second annual Muscular Dystrophy Association golf tournament, set for Aug. 1 at the Ambush Course at Thanksgiving Point. Later, after her children were mostly grown, she decided to further her studies in an accelerated medical program at the American University of the Caribbean, where she said her classmates included people who had doctorate degrees in fields such as anatomy, microbiology and pharmacy. After she completed her studies, she spent two years in Omaha, Neb., in a pediatric residency, followed by a year in Phoenix, Ariz. She and her husband have five children and 21 grandchildren, including identical twin grandsons. Dr. Holland is also one of a pair of identical twins with her sister, Reane, who will be joining her as a nurse practitioner in the American Fork practice. The two also happen to have another pair of identical twin sisters. Dr. Holland is currently accepting new patients.
