The Party Returns as Bid the Spiel of Old Loaded Down With Sam-i Sam-i pies of Ore. ( George D. Shell and party consisting of W. Halliday, engineer, and W. W. Pitt, who loft Salt Lake City on Christinas Christ-inas for the Deep Creek country are back again. Mr. Shell said to a Times i man they mot agood many prospecting parties going and coming from that rich country. One noon they stopped t sink of Government creek, rive miles west of Codar pass, where President Angus M. Cannon of Salt Lake City lunched with them. He gave the Shell party the news from Dugway where he has purchased the Hauler mine and is working it with a large force of men fend is preparing to ship ore by teams. The party arrived at Clifton on the Boon of December 81 and found lots of prospectors there. A large number of I valuable new linds have been made at 1 - the Clifton district within the past two I months. Mr. Shell spent one week in surveying survey-ing for additional patents. The ground surrounding tho town of Clifton is so fully occupied by patented aud unpatented un-patented claims'that prospectors are giving their attention to those parts on the north and south of the district, notably no-tably the Gold Hill section, where enormously rich ores are found in true tissue veins. Mr. Shell brought about 500 additional addi-tional pounds of representative ores from the Clifton mines. These ores can be seen at the ollice of Shell & Wampler under the American National bank. Mining men interested in the resources of Deep Creek country developments devel-opments are always welcome. Recent developments in the George Washington mine place it among the leading silver lead mines of the district. dis-trict. A three foot vein of solid galena assaying 55 per ceut lead and 110 ounces in silver is disclosed by the last work. This mine is tho sole property of Mrs. G. D. Shell who purchased it live years ago and has steadily prosecuted prose-cuted development work on it since. Several hundred tons of ore are on the dumps awaiting shipment. Ona of the Most Promising groups of mines is known as the Calendar Cal-endar group and consists of live mines, viz: The Elephant, the Calendar, the Sunshine, the Democrat and Mt. Vernon. Ver-non. The Elephant is located on Herat hill in the town of Clifton. Tho Calendar Calen-dar is on the great 1 bat ah lode. The Sunshine is on the Paymaster lode, patented and owned by "Win. C. Hall of this city. The Democrat is a southwest south-west extension of the George Washington Washing-ton lode and the Mt. Vcruon is the northeast extension of the same. This group is owned by Professors Kingsbury Kings-bury and Stewart, of the Deseret university, uni-versity, aud Mr. A. L. Williams, coal dealer, John Knapp and Schell and Wampler. News from Other Districts. The most flattering reports from development de-velopment work in Furbcr, Kingsley, Antelope, Willow, Cedar, Fish Springs. Kern, Silver Canyon and the new Warm Creek districts afe received daily. The Midland investment company of Salt Lake so far own tho most valuable valu-able discoveries yet made in the latter district. A number of their teams loaded with supplies passed Willow Springs on January 9th en route for the new mines to commence active development work. The new finds of immense bodies of galena ores in the Fish springs district dis-trict is creating much excitement among the prospecting fraternity and a ereat many teams and men with pack animals ani-mals are rushing in from other districts. dis-tricts. The Deep Creek Road. Everybody is looking for its construction construc-tion as soon as possible. J. H. Bacon of Salt Lake went to New York to sign the papers for its building.
