carl evans was up from salt lake to look after the logal end of the council two ordinances were presented one establishing the office of city electrician and one pertaining to tile water rates etc these ordinances will be included in the revised ordinances which have been in preparation for the past nine months and which are now practically ready to be turned over to the printer various bids have been received by the committee for the printing of same and the award is expected to be made some time this month recorder mrs holland tendered her resignation as clerk of the water department which was wag accepted on motion of cour w mcgill and the books ordered turned over to the audi auditing tinb committee the lady requested that per month be allowed her for services on these books A motion prevailed that 2500 a month was ample for the work done against the protest of mrs holland hollan d who threatened to resort to law if tile the amount slie she asked for was not allowed for months past the auditing 0 committee lias has been working on these same water books and to date owing to the muddled condition of the same a detailed report has not been made and in view of this fact it seems rather an unusual proceeding to accept a resignation until a final report was made and all disere accounted for from all reports tile the books of the water department are in a bad shape and report tallied with the above for the month city justice 1 judge crossman disposed of 37 cases during the month fines imposed coni committed bitted collected in cash city sexton sexton gidley reported
