McGarvey Announces Ticket Promotions Tickets for Utah Jazz basketball games will be raffled off weekly to students, says Dennis McGarvey, director of campus life. Students who are interested may sign up for specific games in McGarveys office (102 Shaw Center). N ames will be selected and posted on the window outside of McGarveys office the day before each game. Winners will have three hours to pick up their tickets. According to McGarvey, winners will get two tickets for games selected. McGarvey said winners during any one week will be required to wait two weeks before they are eligible to win additional tickets. "This will enable more students to win," said McGarvey. The Opus Game Room, located in the basement of Shaw Center, is now selling discount tickets to all Salt Lake Golden Eagles Hockey Games, according to Dennis McGarvey, director of campus life. For $5, students, staff, and faculty can purchase a coupon that can be redeemed for a $7 ticket at the Salt Palace. The $7 ticket is the best seat in the house for hockey, said McGarvey, and we are excited about being able to offer this savings to our people here at Westminster. People who take advantage of this deal will be able to see the future stars of the National Hockey League. The Eagles have won the league two of the last three years. This is real exciting hockey. As the French philosopher Jean Paul Sartre once said, You secrete your essence through time. You could have been this, you could have been that, but in the end youre nothing but your actions. These days, even at Westminster, that some times means youre a winner. Faculty Committees Seek Student Reps. Two faculty committees are presently looking for student representatives to help set policies and procedures that will affect curriculum and library operations, according to Debbie Jenkins, dean of students. Both the Library Committee and Curriculum Committee have faculty representatives from each of the four schools who have been chosen by the faculty. Six student representatives are needed to fill four positions (one from each school) on the on the CurricuLibrary Committee and two (students-at-large- ) Committee. lum Individuals for both committees will be elected by the Executive Cabinet of ASWC and approved by the Legislative Assembly, according to Jenkins. Students who are interested in either committee should contact Jenkins or a member of the Executive Cabinet According to Jenkins, the Executive Cabinet is concerned that the same students are being appointed to several committees because of convenience. The requirements of student representatives are honesty, interest in the committee, ability to attend all meetings, and willingness to express their own and other students points of view, said Jenkins. Involvement in either committee could be a good opportunity for students with educational-targete- d goals, according to Jenkins. raim Ym. Army nurses are officers. They never lose status by moving, as so often happens in civilian hospitals. In fact, the Army encourages mobility and growth. You re encouraged to continue your education in clinical specialties such as Intensive Care, OR, Pediatrics, OR or Anesthesia and to attend conferences both inside and outside the Army. If you have a BSN and are registered to practice in the US or Puerto Rico, or youre still a student, talk to an Army Nurse Recruiter. It could be a very happy move.
