Show The Ogden Valley news Page Volume XIV Issue XX August 1, 2007 End of Summer Party @ Your Library Music Fest 2007 @ Your Library On August 13 at 7:00 p.m., the staff of the Ogden Valley Branch Library will chase away all the impending fall blues with a night full of warm, sunny summer fun with their Family Fun Night—End of Summer Party. This event promises to be full of good old fashioned summer fun. The evening will, of course, begin with some of the best summertime stories and be followed by games and crafts truly fit for summer. Afterwards, The Ogden Valley Branch Library’s traditional Music Festival is returning in August and September. A series of FREE music concerts will be held on August 23, August 30, September 6, and September 13 in the library courtyard. Bring the whole family to this fantastic outdoors series. All performances will be held on Thursday nights at 7:00 p.m., and will be accompanied by delicious refreshments. Mystery Dinner Theater The opening of Hunt Mysteries Dinner Theater’s original comedy murder mystery, “Loveship Winaprize: Against All Odz,” by Joyce Gunther, is scheduled for Saturday, August 11 at Boccia’s D’Italia in Captain Jirk (Andrew Lenz), center, with his sidekicks Science Officer Spork (Brandon Rufener) and Medical Officer Dr. Bonsey (Jim Schroeder). Ogden with subsequent dinner show dates in Sandy, West Jordan, and Ogden through September. Guests join the maiden voyage of the Loveship Winaprize as Captain Jirk and his intrepid crew— including Science Officer Spork, Medical Officer Dr. Bonsey, Chief Engineer Snotty, and Communications Officer Lt. The party begins at 7:00 p.m. and is open to all Eccles Community Art Center members, or those who are interested in becoming new members. The Main Gallery will be exhibiting art works included in the 33rd Annual Statewide Competition. The Carriage House Gallery will be featuring the paintings and drawings of the late Farrell Collett. In addition, live entertainment and refreshments will be served. An original oil painting, Song of the Meadowlark by David W. Jackson, will be presented to one of the art center members in attendance at the party. The Eccles Community Art Center depends on the support of its members.
