Beck wishes to announce her 80th birthday on Monday, Oct. 10. Verland was born in Lehi to Niron and Gladys Fowler and has been a resident. She married Bert Beck on Aug. 24, 1934 in the Salt Lake LDS Temple. He died Dec. 25, 1983. Liz is the daughter of Steven M. and Judy Visser of Highland. Kit is the son of Gene Lee and Nikki Brady of Lehi. A reception will be held that same evening from 6:30 to 8:30 at the Highland Stake Center, 6800 W. 9600 North. This is an open invitation to all friends and family to come and join them in celebration. Sheramy Jonsson and Tiffany Willie will serve as bridesmaids, with Ericka Baum and Shaylyce Duncan as flower girls. Jerime is a graduate of Lehi High School and LDS Seminary. He fulfilled an LDS mission to Atlanta, Georgia. He is currently employed with Fowles Construction and plans to continue his education at Utah Valley State College. ' Becky is also a graduate of Lehi High School and LDS Seminary. She has completed one year at Snow College and is currently employed at American Express. Coates celebratedhis 80th birthday on Sept. 30 with his wife, Aleda, his daughters, Doris, Vera, and Donna, and grandchildren and Rex was born Sept. 30, 1914 in Mt. Pleasant to Hyrum Levi Coates and Mary Ellen Kump Coates. He attended school in Gunnison. In his early years he helped on his fa- thers dry farm and hired out to work with threshing machines. He married Aleda Jensen from Mayfield. They worked and lived in hours prior to tests. Flu shots will be offered on Monday, Oct. 24 from 1 to 3:30 p.m. at the center. As he hired out for production, they moved to Pleasant Grove where he still resides. After fulfilling his years of service for Geneva, he retired to pursue his many hobbies, his love of life, and the outdoors. He likes springtime and summer, and greyhound dogs, but most of all, his horses. He raises them, trains them, and rides them every day except stormy days. He meets and sees all kinds of things on his rides. He loves his animals. He says animals are the greatest friends a guy could have.
