Show Sudden Deaih. Oq Sunday the funeral of msjor Pitt was attended among many others by an old frieod of deceased, Mr. William W. Piayer, well-known and much respected citizen, who was within nine days of being eighty years of age. He assisted assis-ted to bear the cofEn for a short distance, and ono of the handles c,ave "way in his hand, after which he was seized with an attack of iickness, vomited, and had to be removed re-moved to his residence, by his son William. Apoplexy ensued, and ho died in the course of the afternoon. Mr. Player was a fine old gentleman, who had many warm friends and admirers. His funeral will take place this morning morn-ing from the 14th ward assembly rooms, at 10 o'clock. Friends are invited in-vited to attend. We have been requested to publish the fallowing notice to the stonecutters stone-cutters and masons of the city; The operative stone cutters and masons, wishing to pay the last tribute of respect to the late William Piayer, of the 17th ward, will meet at his late residence at 0 a. m., in full regalia, and accompany the corpse to the 14th ward assembly rooms, where an address will be delivered at 10 o'clock. |
