Show (By W. D. Telegraph.) SICKLES Sl'LUKGES Madrid, 23. Sickles gave 4 reception recep-tion last night which was attended by Castellar and leading diplomatists, and men of letters in the city. Several representatives re-presentatives of the Spanish nobility were present. The reception was succeeded suc-ceeded by a ball to the diplomatic corps which losced until -i o'clock this mornmr. lne politicians present discussed dis-cussed the state of affairs in Spain with the American minister who recommended re-commended vigilance, prudence, energy en-ergy and patriotism. The present was a critical moment, be said, and it was unwise to allow the people to bear arms until they had received a military mili-tary organization. The people appeared ap-peared to know their rights; they must, as sonrj a? possible, learn their duties as citizens, and then they would be enabled en-abled to contribute to the happiness and pro.-peri'y of the country. |
