The following is a list of cases that have resulted in arrests for the year 2004 because of tips originating from residents living in the Valley: ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ ~ A Balloon Fest in February. Many new families move to Ogden Valley each year, each with a unique background and story to tell. The Formica family, now of Liberty, are no exception. Mike and Karyl moved to Liberty about five months ago. They brought along with them Mike’s unique life story of growing up with a mother who had the opportunity of playing a magical role in the American classic, “The Wizard of Oz.” Mike’s mother played the part of a Munchkin in the most famous land of all—the land of Oz. Jeanette Fern McDill Formica, - called “Johnnie Fern,” was born January 17, 1925. She began performing at the age of two orsf three. As a dancer and actress, a few of her roles included parts such as a la Mae West as Diamond Lil. West oe referred to her as her “miniature double.” As a dwarf, Jeanette also worked in a performing troupe in the Midget Village at the San Diego World’s Fair, and doubled in several movies for Shirley Temple. She later costarred in “The Terror of Tiny Town.” Soon after, she was cast as a Munchkin Maid in the “Wizard of Oz,” which, after being released nearly 67 years ago in 1939, still remains a popular classic.
