Studentbody Elects From the JHS CLARION Raymond, Colleen, Ellen and Dale really made the elections this year a lot of fun handouts were passed out, posters were hung, gold flowers and lollipops were passed out to the student body. After all the hard work of campaigning was over the Gold Party won! Raymond Nielsen will be student body president for next year. He is the son of Mrs. Ora Nielsen of Nephi; Vice president will be Miss Ellen Bellis-todaughter of Mrs. Naomi T. Belliston; secretary, Miss Colleen Bird, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. Lawrence Bird, and activities manager. Dale Jackson, son n, of Mr. and Mrs. Russell Jackson. All four are eager to work on the betterment of Juab High School for next year and those which follow. Raymond states: I want to get every student involved In school activities and get more participation on the assemblies, sports, and all fun things." "Its up to Dale to figure out what activities will be fun for next year, next he stated, year I hope I can get the activities that the student body wants to participate in and help them in a fun way, in order to make next year the best year ever. Menhi News Briefs City, County Officials Attend Nephi News Briefs Order of Arrow to Meet Highway Planning Sessions Mrs. Lily Wright returned to her home recently after spending the winter with members of her family. She visited with her son in law and daughter, Mr. and Mrs. Arthur Latimer at Pocatello. She also spent some time in Rapid City, South Dakota with Mr. and Mrs. James D. Mathews and family. Mrs. Mathews Is a Mrs. granddaughter of Mrs. Wright In time some also Murray spent Wright with a sister, Mrs. Eva Jones, and visited wth grandchildren: Melvin Wright and family, Morris Wright and family at Roy and with Mr. and Mrs. Clifford Pay at Woods Cross. The following Nephi residents were in Kanab on Wednesday, Thursday and Friday of last week to attend the State Road School: Mayor and Mrs. Elden C. Sherwood: City Streets Supervisor and Mrs. Rex Carter; County Road Foreman and Mrs. Ronald C. Jones; Juab County Commissioner Alton S. Gadd and County Commissioner and Mrs. Richard Foote. Lynn Brough and son Chad, Mayor E. C. Sherwood and grandson Chris Sherwood enjoyed the Fathers and Sons outing at Capitol Reef National Monument Chris Friday evening and Saturday. Sherwood Is a son of Mr. and Mrs. Wesley Sherwood of Orem. Mrs. Max L. Orme, president of the Nebo First District, Utah Federation of Womens Clubs, has announced that the Utah Parliamentary Institute for Womens Federated Clubs will be held In Salt Lake City June 4 and 5. Registration will open Friday at 6 p.m. and the initial sessions will begin at 7 p.m. On Saturday, regstratlon will be from 8 to 9 a.m., and the meeting will continue from 9 a.m. until 1 p.m. Mrs. Orme said that cost will be $2.00 per session, or $3.50 for both sessions. Instructors will be Mrs. Eugene M. Church, District 8 Director of the National Association of Parliamentarians, and Mrs. Kenneth A. Day, immediate past director of the District. Also participating in the sessions as an instructor will be Mrs. Logan, chairman of the N.A.P. for Utah. Reservations for the sessions should be made with Miss Margaret Anderson, 1509 South 23rd East, Salt Lake City, Utah 84108 prior to June 1. Mrs. Ruth C. Wells had as her guests last week, her granddaughter, Mrs. Rowe The Lodge of the Utah National Parks Council, Boy Scouts of America, will hold the annual Brotherhood Week from Tuesday, June 1 to Friday, June 4. Registration will be from 7 to 9 a.m. Tuesday. Fee for the weeks activities will be $15. All boys who were tapped out for the Order of the Arrow last year are eligible to participate. Final activity of the week will be an assembly on June 4 at 10 a.m. at Camp Maple Dell, to be attended by the boys participating in the week camp and parents.
