Show STAKE CONFERENCE. The quarterly conference of the St. George Stake of Zion was held in the Tabernacle at St. George on Sunday and Monday, December 15th and 19th. There were present on the stand Apostle Cowley, Elder J. Golden Kimball, Kim-ball, President Daniel D. McArthur and Counselors David H. Cannon and Erastus B. Snow, the bishops of the various wards, and the priesthood generally. The sessions were well at- -tended, and the remarks! of the various speakers full of good spiritual and temporal tem-poral advice. SUNDAY, 10 A. M. The choir sang: ''The happy day has rolled on." Prayer was offered by Elder Erastus B. Snow. The choir sang: ''Gome listen to a Prophet's voice.'' President D. D. McArthur, addressed the Saints assembled. Reports were then made by the fol- lowing brethern of their respective wards: Elder Abbot of Bunkerville, Bishop Jones of Overton. Bishop Bringhurst Bring-hurst of Toquerville, Elder Samuel Isom of Virgin City. The latter has recently returned from the Southern states mission field, and received word of the death of a relative Sunday morning, morn-ing, and left to return home. Elder J. Golden Kimball was the last-speaker last-speaker at this session. Choir sang: "Though in the outward out-ward Church below." Benediction was pronounced by Patriarch Richard Bentley. SUNDAY, 2 p M. Singing by the choir. Prayer was offered up by Elder James G. Bleak. Singing by the choir. Bishop James Andrus reported the condition of St. George ward. Elder Riley Savage, of Toquerville, recently returned from the Southern states mission field, then addressed the congregation. Elder Enoch Naegle. of Toquerville another missionary recently returned from the European mission field, where he labored in Germany and Switzerland, Switzer-land, was the next speaker. Elder James G. Bleak then put tlte General and local Authorities of the Church before the people for vote and they were unanimously sustained. Apostle Cowley followed with a discourse dis-course that was highly appreciated by the Saints, after which iho choir sang an anthem, and the meeting was brought to a close. MONDAY. Services were held at 10 a. m., and 2 p. m. The attendance was large. Tlte advice given to the congregations was good and much enjoyed by all. |
