Show David Chambers home cn leave Mrs. Ella Sullivan dies af mer resident of Eureka. She celebrated her one hundredth birthday on May 8 of this year. She was bom May8, 1868, in a small mining town, Idaho City, Idaho. She was a daughter of John and Alice Taylor Hannifin. The family settled in Eureka. She attended St. Josephs Catholic school and later attended St. Marys Academy in Salt Lake City. After graduation she returned to Eureka as a school teacher. At that time she was paid $1.50 per student per year. She was a member of the Catholic Church and served as director of the St. Patricks Church Choir for 30 years. She married Timothy D. Sullivan in July 1888 in St. Patricks Catholic Church in Eureka. Mr. Sullivan is credited with the descovery of the Little Chief mine, later known as the Chief Consolidated mine. He died August 19 1899. She remained in Eureka until after the death of a son, Daniel, in 1934. She moved to Salt Lake City to help her daughter-in-laMrs. Daniel (Marguerite) Sullivan, rear her two children. She lived with her daughteruntil her death on Tuesday. Her many friends marveled at her keen mind, and her interest in current events and she was very alert until the end , and could .carry on an interesting conversation with anyone who came to call on her. Survivors are a daughter, Mrs. Darrell (Mary) Gardner of Scottsdale, Arizona, one son, John T., Salt Lake City; her w, in-la- w Mrs. Marguer- w, ite Sullivan; sister, Julia Hannifin, Bute Montana; four grand children and 12 great grandchildren. Mr. Chambers is home on leave from his base at McCord Air Force Base in Washington. A number of games were enjoyed and dinner was served to the young people. The party was planned for the Sand Dunes, but weather prevented them from having an party. Those attending were Susan Sanderson, Eileen Franks, Pam McIntyre, Carol Stapley, Janet Brady, Ray Schow, Cliff Fife, Kirk Drusscl and Gary Nelson. out-do- The Tintic High School Band marched and performed in the huge Pioneer Day Parade in Salt Lake City. The band represented Eureka in the July 24th Parade and also in the Ute Stampede Parade in Nephl.
