Show The Tavern. It is amusing to hear some people say, "I'm so glad the Tavern has opened again, Salt Lake needs just such a place." It is amusing, because these people never even peep inside of the quaintly attractive at-tractive place, but there are lots of others who do and they are enjoying life over the teacups. The first necessity for the success of a good restaurant res-taurant is the right chef and he is at the Tavern. Then in place of the professional "ham fatter" waiter, men have been employed and paid enough to give excellent service, and they are in no way dependent on tips. Numerous improvements have been made also in the material effects in the house, and one of the oddest and prettiest signs in the city has been placed in front. It is a large scroll T with old English lettering in red on the transparent part wiht a dozen lights behind the lettering. The word "The" is across the top and "Tavern" in the body of the letter. For lunch or dinner or midnight supper there is no nicer place between tho river and 'Frisco. |
