The impending marriage of a member of tho "upper few hundred," who bad onoe been a schoolmate of bis. and with whom he had kept upon acquaintance, was announced. He did not get an Invitation to the dude's wedding, but was favored with a note from him. "You will be surprised at not receiving receiv-ing an Invitation to my wedding, but really 1 must be frank with you. 1 have a high regard re-gard for you personally, but you are a grocer, and I regret to tell you that the appearance ap-pearance of a groceryman at my wedding would give offense to the society people who are to be present," etc, eta This awful slight has not entirely destroyed the successor of his father in the grocery line. He is rather pleased to tell that be has had a visit from a society swell who was so happy as to be favored with an invitation to tbe wedding and who asked the privilege of borrowing bor-rowing enough money to buy an outfit worthy of the occasion.
