Show THE DIXIE SUN September 24, 1958 Attendance Policy Daily Reporting of Absences: Each instructor is expected to make an accurate check of class enrollment and attendance at each meeting. It is expected that at the beginning of each semester or quarter the students will be appraised, preferably in writing, of the instructors policy on attendance and tardiness. College students should be informed as to what constitutes an excused absence and how the instructor will determine this. A mimeographed report form, (Form ) shall be filled in at the close of each day. The name of each absent student shall be recorded in the blank provided. If the student has been excused, it should be so noted. C-l- Excused Absences: In the case of high school students the attendance officer will assist the instructors by determining the validity of excused absences. In all college classes this responsibility rests with the instructor. (C-5- Delta Psi Omega Meeting Dates Told Miss Myrtle Henderson, advisor for Delta Psi Omega fraternity, announces that meetings will be held at 8 p. m. on the second and fourth Thursdays of each month. The first meeting scheduled for September 25, will be in the form of a rousing get together fun party which will probably be held at some spot. Plans inviting for the years activities will be discussed at the opening party. All members are urged to be in attendance. Membership in the social fraternity is open to all upper division students at Dixie College, according to Miss Tippetts. Pledging and installation ceremonies will be conducted during the early part of the Autumn Quarter. Officers of the organization include; girls officers; Janeanne Tippetts, president; Barbara Larkin, Loma Lovell, secretary; Marilyn Foremaster, treasurer; Norma Jones, reporter. Boys president is Richard Smith. His officers have not been chosen as yet, but they will be chosen soon after school starts. Class Withdrawal Politv Announced College students who withdraw prior to the end of the sixth week of each academic quarter at Dixie College shall be given an incomplete passing or an incomplete failing grade for each of their classes as their instructors shall individually determine. After the expiration of the sixth week, however, all students who withdraw will be given a failing grade unless petition is made to the Attendance and Scholarship Committee for special consideration. This shall be given for withdrawals made necessary by calls to the military service, to serve missions, for illness sufficient to prohibit attendance, and for other circumstances which the committee shall deem sufficient.
