HeraM, As a result of the electrical storm whch occurred in this valley yester-daay, yester-daay, Andrew Maxfield, the 17-year old son of Joseph Maxfield, of Butler -ville, lies dead at his parents' home while Fred E. Webb, aged 19, a son of Samuel Webb, of the same place, is in a seriom condition. The two youths were out horseback riding in the afternoon, and at about 5 o'clock when the storm came up, were quite a distance from home. Eager to gain 6helter, they urged their horses onward, and were but a quarter of a mile from Maxfield 'a when a blind-in blind-in flash of lightnlDg came, accompanied accom-panied by an awful roar of thunder. Both horses went down, carrying the young riders with them. Aid was soon at hand, a3d when the rescuers arrived they found young Maxtield lying under his hose in the throes of death, while youDg Webb was beside bis steed unconscious. Both animals were killed. |
