Show 3 ka 4 a W V 1 U S co may purchase beck ores ore A 0 supt bupt R A brown of the centennial eureka mine and sun suri ea e or smith are now at work sampling the low grade ore in the bullion beck mine when this work was started on oil tuesday a number of people formed the imbres sion that some kind of a deal was pending between the two companies but mr brown informs the reporter that the v m ork ie is being done with a view to ascertaining just how ho much lugrande lu if w grade ore there ie is in the beck mine and upon the dump inasmuch as the united states company is in the market for ores at tills this time it is only natural to suppose that an effort is being made to pur chase this low grade ore bre from the bullion beck company the sampling of the mine and dump m will ill require in the neighborhood of t tu 0 m beeks and in the mean time bul but little informs tion will be given out to the public it la is stated that the dump at the beck mine together with the tailings dump of the old mill which has been idle for years contain over tons of ore v m aich can be handled at a profit by the united states smelting company then there are immense deposits of low grade ore in the mine which could also be handled by this company the built n beck corn com pany not ba han ing its own smelter and not being in a position to secure the right kind of freight rates could make more money by disposing of the ore to the united states company than bi b shipping it under the conti contact act which they hold with mith the smelter supt bupt L C doty of the bullion beck while not caring to make any statement regarding the sampling of the mine said that no matter m hat way the proposition terminated it would cause no change in the manner in which the mine is being operated in other w it would not interfere m ith the work of the leasers teasers most of whom are doing exceptionally well at this time mr doty said there has been a marked improvement in some of the blocks of ground which are being worked by the leasers teasers and everything considered onside red the mine ie Is in splendid condition sondi tion |
