Miss Yardley is attending the Brigham Young University at Provo, where she is a member of the Cougarettes. Mr. Smith is attending the College of Southern Utah. ' Both Miss Yardley and Mr. Smith. have been prominent in school and church activities, I FFA and 4-H work for a num- 1 ber of years. 1 The St. George Temple will be the setting for the nuptial . riles in the late summer or I early fall. Cootie was played, and prizes were won by Mrs. Garth Baldwin, LaVar At-kin, At-kin, Mrs. Norman Hutchings and Rex Limb. The Valentine motir was carried car-ried out, and a light luncheon was served to 16 guests by the i hostess. MARY ETTA SKOUGARD, oopular Parowan young lady, und Ronald Ward of Beaver were married in Las Vegas on Saturday, Jan. 26. The ceremony was performed by Bishop A. Ronal Solamon in ' ihe presence of the bride's mother and the groom's father. The new Mrs. Ward is the daughter of Mrs. Betty Lowe and a sophomore at Parowan High School. Mr. Ward, a son of Kenneth Ward of Beaver, is a graduate f Beaver High School and is it present employed by the Union Pacific at Caliente- The newlyweds were honored hon-ored at a wedding reception at Parowan Saturday evening, attended at-tended by many Beaver County relatives and friends. MRS- ALLEN HUTCHINGS served a birthday dinner Sunday, Sun-day, honoring her husband, to Mr. and Mrs. Henry Limb and brother Mack, Mr. and Mrs. . Glen Hutchings, brother Sam, and Mr. and Mrs. Merrill Low. Later in the evening a dainty luncheon was served to Mr. and Mrs. Dale Harris, Mr. and Mrs. John Messer and Mr. and Mrs-Merrill Mrs-Merrill Low. MRS. ELLA EASTON eute-tained eute-tained her bridge club at her home on Wednesday, Feb. 13. Prizes were won by Wanda Puffer, Nola Pearce, Anna Bell Hales, and Bertha Dalton. The hostess served pie a la mode and hot chocolate to 12 -"'' members and guests. Glenn Hutchings spent several sever-al days in Salt Lake and Provo with his son Kenneth. ON FEBRUARY 12 the Third Ward held their Gold and Green ball in the First-Third Ward chapel. The theme was "True Love." and the hall was beautifully beauti-fully decorated in red and white,' with red hearts and black cupids. To add to the eheery scene a iire was lighted in the fireplace. Dances featured the floor show, and the Junior Gleaner Girls and Junior M-Men were honored, and were tendered corsages and boutonniers by their parents. Ann Messer was in charge of decorations, Edith Yardley and J. D. Osborn, activity counsellors, counsel-lors, directed the arrangements, and Mr. and Mrs- Dan Moore arranged and directed the floor I show. MR. AND MRS. ANGUS ESPLIN of Preston, Idaho, announce an-nounce the marriage of their daughter, Verna, to Jerome R. Willden, son of Mrs. Rose Will-den Will-den of Beaver. They were married Feb. 21 in the Logan LDS Temple. A reception re-ception was hied Feb. 23 in the Oneida Stake House, Preston.
