M i Tall, blonde and lovely Leslie Jenkins was selected by the judges as Strawberry Days Queen for 1982 in a Pageant held Saturday night at Pleasant Grove High School. Leslie is the daughter of Terry and Irene Jenkins. Sherrie Hullinger, daughter of Benny and Carol Hullinger, was chosen to be first attendant and Karen Thomas, daughter of Glen and Thelma Thomas, was selected as second attendant. Julie Allen was chosen by the other contestants as Miss Congeniality. She is the daughter of Paul and Judy Allen. Other contestants were Tina Allgire, Robyn Stevens, and Tina Story. Announcement of the judges decision capped the evening of talent numbers and evening dress competition. com-petition. Don Zimmerman of the Dance Factory was the master of ceremonies for the third straight year. All the contestants faced the audience first in the production number, "Showtime" which was the theme of the pageant this year. The new queen was crowned by last year's queen, Kelli Collett, who also sang a special number for the program. Becky Hullinger, a noted Utah County performer, sang a song and dancers from the Dance Factory Entertainment Showcase also performed. per-formed. Chairwoman of the event was Sharon Fullmer; Geniel Wilberg, co-chairwoman; co-chairwoman; Betty Memmott was in charge of the entree; Louise Murdock, Mur-dock, judges; Jody Kelley, publicity; Dora Faux, tickets; Darylene Nickell and Vicki Young, luncheon and gifts; Norma Ovard, special arrangements', Don Zimmerman, choreographer; Karen Albrecht and Alta Taylor, buffet. The queen and her court will represent the city in various parades throughout the county and in the Miss Utah County and Miss Utah pageants. They will reign over all the Strawberry Days festivities on June 17-19. They will also be involved in all the publicity for the Strawberry Days celebration.
