Llndrtl was crossing tho Lake Shore railway bridge over tho Calumet river, when a, Pennsylvania train bore down upon him. He leaped directly in front of a passing Lake Shore train. He was hurled over the bridge rail and into the river. The engineer of the Pennsylvania train saw the accident, stopped his train, and went to the rescue. A rope was lowered and Llndell wrapped It around his body and was drawn to safety.
