A few words to the deer hunters of Davis. I hope you enjoyed killing the Bambi population. (I know you are probably feeling really guilty about now.) Anyways I hope you all had a great weekend. A lot of exciting things have happened to Davis over the weeks due to the efforts of some of our extracurricular organizations. Sometimes amidst all the excitement we fail to recognize the cheerleaders who are responsible for cheering our team on, and ral The Girls Volleyball team beat East last Tuesday in three out of five games. Truly the coaches are one of the most supportive groups of any at Clearfield. article, one more week gone by, but I just couldnt waste away seven days without thanking the men who put long, tiresome hours into the football and other fall sports programs: the coaches. Besides being supportive the coaches are fulfilling a very important position in our program. They sweat, push, and swear the athletes into shape for every season during the school year and some over the summer. All of the coaches here are dedicated to taking the raw talent they see and combining it with a little weight-trainin- g and a lot of drills to make athletes. The coaches are vitally important to any program in extra-curricul- ar The coaching staff at Clearfield High is a close knit, supportive group. No one in the school is more interested in w hat goes on at Clearfield whether it be athletics or academics or whatever. They are always attending plays, banquets, and fund raisers to help in any way and the student body officers know athletics. Without them it would be very hard to win any competition at all. With them its almost second nature. Coaching is a year-roun- d job, but here are the coaches of the current sporting events: Mike Nemel-kvolleyball; Ryan Jenkins, girls tennis; Frank Reed and Bob Reed, golf; Paul Murray, cross country; a, Brent Hancock, head football coaches, assistant coaches, Brent Lund, Craig Murray, Karl Wilson, Kent Nye, Kevin Jamison, Ryan Reed and two new coaches, Coach Davis and Coach Fischer. Just a small tribute to the men who work so hard at a thankless job.
