People who live in Ogden would be able to come to the Valley and have a path to walk around to enjoy the beauty. Pathways Are a Good Idea We need pathways in the Valley so we can ride our bikes and horses, and if they were paved smooth it would be fun so we could ride our scooters on it. Non-motorized pathways are a good idea. And sometimes when you are riding your horse through traffic it might scare it, so that’s one reason we need pathways, and it would be more fun and we can walk, run or jog. Pathways can let you see nature. Maybe we could put one around the lake. Or we could put one up a riverside. Sometimes people in wheelchairs might want to go somewhere. Most people will enjoy it. Or a pathway for people to walk their babies. And I could plant flowers along the trail. Haley Duffin, Huntsville 2nd grader Valley Elementary Many Good Reasons to Have Pathways Pathways would be good for a lot of reasons. In the Valley we don’t have any sidewalks. Having pathways would give a safe place for kids to skateboard, rollerblade and ride their bikes. We need pathways so classes can go on fieldtrips to see the animals and nature around us. It would be good to involve kids in picking up trash and keeping the Valley beautiful. Pathways would also be good for Brock Boyington, Liberty 3rd grader at Valley Elementary Pathways, Pathways, Who Wants Pathways? Come to think of it, Ogden Valley really needs non-motorized pathways. So many people want to ride bikes, jog and just walk around. They can’t do it on our roads because of various reasons, such as: the roads are too narrow, there is increasing traffic, and sometimes kids’ parents just don’t have the time to take their kids everywhere. We all need a little more nature in our lives, and making trails for people to walk on outside lets us enjoy nature without bushwhacking our way through. It is a lot easier, safer and, in some cases, faster to get around without motors and gasoline. It would be doing a lot of good to the people in Ogden Valley by giving them a better way to travel without cars. We also need these pathways to decrease air pollution. When there are pathways for people to walk, jog, and ride bikes on, they don’t use their cars as much. That means less smog. One more reason is that people need exercise. It is very important to exercise, and if there is nowhere to run or jog, no one runs or jogs. So do us a favor, not the street paver! Snowcrest Hosts its Second Successful Basketball Camp Snowcrest Junior High held its second annual basketball camp in June of this year. The camp was divided into two sessions, the morning session for elementary age players, and the afternoon session for junior high age participants. Snowcrest basketball coach Kirt Motta managed the sessions as camp director. Although team skills were also demonstrated, the camp clinic emphasized the improvement of individual basketball skills. Each player was given a basis in the fundamentals of the game, and shown how to have fun while still competing. The Snowcrest Basketball Camp is held each year in June, and is open to girls and boys in 4th through 9th grades. The participants in the afternoon session for the Snowcrest Basketball Camp are as follows: Top row left to right: Swede Storey, Hank Storey, Chase Ure, Jerimiah Johnson, Iron Will McKay, Danny Froerer and Jake Hillstrom. Front Row: Tim Mahas, Jake Hogg, Josh Sontag, Michael Starnes, Sean Holly, Aaron Froerer and Colton McKay. NEW LISTING ! !
