LDS Church Dedicated in Liberty On Sunday, July 7, 2002 the Church of Jesus Christ of Latter-day Saints sponsored a community open house and dedicatory service for the newly constructed Liberty church building located at 4279 North 3300 East (North Fork Road). The open house was held from 5:00 to 6:30 p.m. Unlike other LDS church buildings in the Valley, the newly constructed Liberty edifice has a unique userfriendly interior design that efficiently maximizes the interior space. A dedication service was held at 7:00 p.m. following the open house. Huntsville Utah Stake President Phillip Hale presided over the service, while President Douglas Taggart of Liberty conducted. Dan Rhodes and Margo Shaw were invited to speak at the dedicatory services. The dedicatory address and prayer were given by President Hale. Wolf Creek Golf Course Vandalized - $10,000 Reward Offered (Eden, Utah) Rob Thomas, Course Superintendent for Wolf Creek Resort, discovered a vicious act of vandalism on the morning of July 3, when greens 11, 12 and 14 were discovered to have been chemically burned. Further investigation uncovered that a sprinkler controller had also been torn out of the ground. “This is an absolute tragedy. The course is in the best shape it has ever been in, and our members and guests have been raving about its condition.” Thomas noted. A $10,000 reward is being offered for information leading to the capture, arrest, and conviction of the responsible parties. The crime is considered a felony according to the Weber County Sheriff’s office. Anyone with any information should contact Rob Thomas at (801) 430-4290. The skatepark committee has now completed all of the preliminary requirements, and are excited and ready to make the park a reality! The park will feature ramps (quarter pipes, funbox, etc.) designed by a company called Skatewave. Skate ramps and additional features to the park will be purchased as funds become available. The site is prepared and ready to go as soon as we can fund the ramps. If you are interested in skating at the park, or in helping to provide a safe place for children to skate, please attend a skatepark meeting that has been scheduled for Tuesday, July 30 in the community room at the Huntsville Library. Donations to the skatepark fund are tax deductible, and may be sent to: Facts at a Glance SKATEPARK COMMITTEE PO BOX 43 HUNTSVILLE UT84317 If you have any questions you may contact Scott or Karen Klein at 6451935.
