Show EDUCATIONAL INSTITUTE. Editor Leader: - The Cache County Educational Institute met on Saturday last per appointment. Prayer by J. E. Carlisle. Roll called. Minutes of Feb. (February) read and adopted. Joseph Howells was appointed critic. Wm. (William) H Apperley answered the question asked at the last session regarding the uniformity of hours taught by teachers. Said children should not be kept in school longer than they can be actively employed. Also spoke of the surroundings of our schoolhouses - the inconvenience of out-buildings and the poor condition generally of the school rooms. He urged the necessity of proper accommodation for the children. J. E. Carlisle read a paper on the cultivation of the imagination. P. J. Cannon, on motion from the members, gave a short address. Said he was pleased with the interest taken in the Institute and the progress that had been made. Was also glad to see so great an interest taken in starting a library. The following motion was moved and carried. That a fund be raised for the library by donation of twenty-five cents from persons wishing to donate, and that a committee be appointed in each settlement to solicit such donations. The librarian was instructed to appoint a committee. The critic's report was very good. The programme for the second Saturday in April was read and approved. Benediction by J. H. Gibbs.
