Show 2 More Musicians Seek Telegram Scholarship Two young Salt Lake City musicians mu-sicians swelled the entry list to six Monday In the $1000 music scholarship contest, sponsored by The Salt Lake Tribune-Salt Lake Telegram and radio station KALL, in cooperation with the Utah Federation Fed-eration of -Music Clubs. Florence Wood. 20, daughter of Mr. and Mrs. L. S. Wood, 2074 E. th South, and David R. Margetta, 22, son of Mr. and Mrs. Harold A. Margetts. 1130 E. 6th South, are the latest entrants. Miss Wood is a pianist and Mr. Margetts plays the violin. Both are University of Utah students. Winners of the contest, to be held June 25 and 26, will receive eight weeks of advanced training at the Music Academy of the West, Santa Barbara, Cat Meanwhile, Mrs. M. D. Bring-hurst Bring-hurst waa appointed chairman of the committee to direct auditions. She will be assisted by Mrs. John B. Bradley and Mrs. Arthur Freber. Students 18 to 30 years of age are eligible for the contest. Entry blanks are published in the Tribune Trib-une and Telegram, and are also available at member clubs of the federation. Entries must be submitted sub-mitted by midnight of June 15. |
