Show MINERAL EXHIBIT AT STATE FAIR the mineral exhibit at the utah state fair held the first week in october excelled in every way any display of the kind heretofore made in the state A building was devoted almost exclusive exclusively ly to the exhibit and the arrangement was excellent while very many choice and rare samples were displayed which attracted the attention of every one interested in the raining mining industry in the center of the big show room a beehive built of minerals was beautiful as well as conspicuous the beehive was fifteen feet in diameter at its base and about ten feet high it was electrically illuminated the lamps being varied in colors the salt lake hardware had on exhibition hibi tion a line of mining machinery which was in motion the same as if in actual operation the state school of mines had an a assay office in commission which was equipped with case gasoline furnace case crusher and hers grinder furnished by the denver fire clay company while the keller assay balance which took first prize at the fair was furnished by the salt lake hardware company the utah engineering Ala machinery chinery coni company pany had on exhibition a coal puncher the coal exhibit was extensive and first class the exhibits being made by the independent coal company the utah fuel company the consolidated fuel company and the western fuel company the international smelting smelling Sm elting refining company from its tooele thoele smelter exhibited a great slab of copper matte while the american smelting smelling Sm elting refining company exhibited copper matte and gold and silver bullion the nephi plaster company also had a fine display the horn silver mine of frisco had a goodly display of ores while other camps and districts were represented by the fol lowing named mines bingham utah copper utah metal silver shield bingham mines company new england ohio copper commercial and yampa park city silver king coalition daly west daly judge silver king consolidated little bell and new york bonanza t big cottonwood and alta utah mines coalition south hecla alta consolidated howell and hecla tintic gintic centennial eureka eagle and blue bell uncle sam beck tunnel sioux consolidated colorado iron blossom scranton black jack grand central mammoth and carisa spring creek ores from the tiger group camp floyd ores from the mercur mine santaquin San indianapolis union chief black balsam eva nebo highland big nebo and white dragon lucin little butte the utah onyx company had a fine display the exhibit has been removed to the chamber of commerce building where it will be taken care of for the benefit of the state |
