Show MONTANA butte intermountain inter mountain shipments of between thirty and fifty tons a day are being made from the colorado mine of the davis daly company and extensive development work is proceeding on the 1400 and 1700 foot levels the ore is going to the washoe smelter the company expects in a short time to be in a position to increase the shipments to tons a day libby herald N D murray who has charge of the work at the bew L victor em pire was down to the city last saturday returning to camp the following day the tunnel is now in 1200 feet and has about yet to go to reach the surface capping in the course of the tunnel a number ot 0 veins have been cut apparently their apex as they all shoot down but none has yet been sunk upon to determine its strength and size the work in hand being to drive the work to reach the surface showing some fine samples have been brought out from the veins which have been encountered in the tunnel butte intermountain intermountain the butte apex scott last month shipped forty cars of ore to the east butte smelter and this month the shipments will average a car and a half a day the ore runs around abound 6 to 11 per cent copper and is being secured from the 1500 1600 and 1800 foot levels A few days ago an important strike of rich copper glance was opened up on the 1800 foot level the little annie being operated by b the butte alex scott has joined the producing class some very good ore being got from the foot level As the claim is a full one and the vein runs full length development work is being rapidly pushed along the carrying of the shaft down another feet will not be started just at present butte intermountain inter mountain the butte superior company expects to commence work on the new concentrator in the course of a few weeks at the latest and to have it in operation early next summer or a month or two before the expiration of the companas comp anys lease on the basin concentrator the first unit of the proposed new concentrator will bo be tons capacity and will be equipped with the latest and most modern machinery for the treatment of the zinc ore great care and attention have been given to the preparation of the plans and president wolvin has had the advice and experience of D C jackling president of the utah copper company and chief engineer geo 0 bradley of the ray consolidated soli dated nearly all the new machinery placed in the basin works by the butte superior company will be transferred to the new concentrator and ns as soon as the lease expires on the basin works the property will be given up as far as the butte superior company is concerned |
