Show I PARK CITY, UTAH. The funeral of Thomas Powers, who died Saturday, was held Monday afternoon aft-ernoon from St. Mary's church under the auspices of the A. O. U. W. . William O'DriScolI, the 20-year-old ; son of John O'Driscoll of Kamas, was shot and seriously wounded by. the accidental ac-cidental discharge of a gun Sunday night. The young man had been hunting hunt-ing about two miles lrom Kamas and while holding the gun by the muzzle, was getting into the wagon preparatory to starting for home. He struck the gun against the wheel, discharging tlu- load in one of the barrels. The charge entered en-tered the right side, badly shattering the pectoral muscle of the arm, and sevtral shot lodged in the right lung. Dr. Ward was summoned from Park I City and found the young man in a acinous ac-inous condition. Inflammation of the lungs had set in and his life is despaired de-spaired of. ' The father of the injured man was at one time county commissioner commis-sioner and the family are among the oldest settlers of Summit county. A. very, pretty, wedding was solemnized solemn-ized last week at St. Mary's church, Rev. Father Galllgan officiating, when Miss Annie' Corrigan and James McNeill's Mc-Neill's were united in the holy bonds of matrimony. Miss Corrigan was it-tended it-tended by Miss Mary Fallon, and both were gowned in white. Terrence Morgan Mor-gan acted as .b:st man . for Mr. McNellis. Mc-Nellis. Immediately after the ceremony had been performed the bridal party were driven to the home of the bride's parents, where' a wedding dinner and reception was held, only the relatives and near friends of th? young couple being present. Mr. and Mrs. McNellis left on the afternoon train for Salt Lake on a short wedding trip, and will be at home to their friends here after Oct. 1. The happy couple are well and favorably known in Park City, the bride being the ha'ndsome and accomplished daughter of Mr. and Mrs. James Corrigan, Cor-rigan, a young lady, who has resided in the Park for many years and whose pleasing personality has made her one . of the most popular young ladies in the city. The groom has been in the Park for several years and is a popular employe em-ploye at the Daly-West. ( f- Ex-United 'State's Senator Thomas Kearns was in the Park two days last week, spending most of the time at the great Silver King mine, of which he is general manager. He will return next Tuesday and remain for a week or more. |
