Show CAN IT BE DONE? Does a Picture Remain on the Retina of the Eye? DISTRESS IN COLORADO. An Important Conference Was Had Yesterday Yes-terday Between Secretary Carlisle and Chairman Springer on the Carlisle Flan A Foul Murder Reported. Jamestown, N. Ym Dec. 20. Photographic Photo-graphic science may have given the first tangible clew to the identity of the muiderer of Mrs. Shearman and Mrs. Davis. Several have been the suspects ani the clews followed up without success, but today the impreB-j sion ot the murderer was found on the retina of Mrs. Shearman's eye. The photograph was taken by Fred D. Marsh, a local photographer, and to him is due the credit of haying originated orig-inated the idea of examining the organ . The existence of the impression of the murderer on the eye was discovered by means ot a powerful microscope. Unfortunately, the raatures of the man could not be seen, as the view obtained shows only the back and a very little of the side. An apparently big man is presented, with bushy whiskers and wearing a long overcoat. The trousers appear to be badly wrinkled. The coroner has taken out both the eyes of the murdered woman, aud another an-other photogiaph will be tafcen tomorrow tomor-row by a skilled photographer. No impression im-pression was discoverable on Mrs. Davis's eyes. |
