Show THE WHEAT RAISERS Views of Elias Morris and George W Thatcher Mr Elias Morris of the Pioneer Roller Rol-ler Mills was met yesterday and stated that he could see no hope for a fall in the price of wheat Said he All the poorer class of farmers have disposed of their wheat and the class now hold log can afford to and will hold it If millers refuse to poly the prices then they must close their mills It cannot nowaver go much above 51 per bushel tor the reason that Oregon wheat can be laid down here for about that much par bushel I look for it to be about 1 a bushel but not much above if at all The high price it now commands outs off the possibility of farther export ex-port but our ability to bring in wheat renders it impossible for wheat to go over 1 a bushel I do not believe there is any surplus wheat in the Territory now and we have no more than will last ns until next harvest No I do not think wheat will drop though I do not think it can go up much more Mr George W Thatcher manager of the Union Roller Mills Logan was also seen on our streets yesterday and said he could see no rPaon wny wheat should drop Cache Valley has sent out this year Mr Thatcher thinks fully 400 carloads of wheatperhaps more Wheat is scarce and the price cannot fall His views are about the same as those of Mr Morris |
