Show A special election is to be held on Tuesday the 8th day of June next, to determine whethe' or not the tax payers of this state will vote one mill tax for fifteen years for the erection of a state capital building. Besides ibis, here iu Guuuison we have two very important questions to be voted for by the taxpayers this mouth bonds for a water system, and bonds for better schools. When we get better municipal improvements, enough school houses erected and paid for and a good system of roads then we may talk state capital. The people are now quite heavily burdened burden-ed with taxes. We think tnat the proposed state house might be built without additional tax. The Weber Club of Ogde.n offers half a million dollars toward the building, if located in that oity, aDd the city council proposes pro-poses to furnish the grounds and building with water free of charge. If Ogden can do that much, Salt Lake City ought to do twice that much. That would be a gnod starter |
