Show For Those Gone Before. Gunnison's Decoration Day exercises exer-cises were carried out according to previous announcement, the program having been very satisfactorily rendered. ren-dered. As is usual upon such occasions oc-casions the crowd in attendance was largo. The program occupied just an hour. It consisted of band seleotious, singing, reading? and an appropriate and interesting address delivered by Judge A. H. Christenson. Attention to the graves of the departed de-parted next followed and the sacred mounds were bedecked with beautiful beauti-ful flowers and greens which gave beauty, for a brief spell, to the silent city. It is to be hoped that by another year means will be provided for watering the plot and make it an inviting place for holding the celebration celebra-tion in the future. Every business house in the city was closed between the hours of 9 a, m. and 2 p. m. in honor of the daj . Numerous teams lined the road all afternoon laden with fragrant tributes ftud other remembrances with which to beautify the graves of departed loved ones. |
