Thatch Hatch of Manti will willbe willbe willbe be acting in a new capacity this year Mr Hatch has been added to the teaching faculty of the Ephraim Institute replacing Earl McKenna who left to accept an assignment at atthe atthe atthe the University of Arizona at Tucson I In 1960 Mr Hatch accepted the position of Coordinator of i Seminaries and Institutes for forthe forthe forthe the South Central Utah Dis Dis- He is being replaced in inthis inthis inthis this post by Alden Richens who recently moved to Manti ManU Mr Hatch was born Jan 9 s 1926 in Salt Lake City He began began be be- gan his education in Davis County and graduated from the Davis High School in Kaysville Kays- Kays Kaysville Kaysville ville lettering in tennis and basketball His college education education tion lion was acquired at the University University University Uni Uni- of Utah graduating in 1953 with his bachelors bachelor's degree and received his masters master's degree degree degree de de- de- de gree from the Brigham Young University in 1961 During World War II he spent much of his time on a troop carrier for the ithe Marine Corps traveling to the South Pacific He spent the last part of his military career aboard the ship Missouri As an active member of the Church he lie served as gas 13 ha mis mis- sion He has also held the position of second counselor in the North Ogden Third Ward bishopric He is now serving in the Manti ManU North NorthWard NorthWard NorthWard Ward bishopric In 1953 he began his Seminary Seminary ary teaching at Parowan Utah for two years While in college he taught time part Seminary at Jordan Junior High After leaving Parowan he taught at Weber Seminary in Ogden for five years I |
