Mr Antrei also makes light of the practice of writing to our Representatives in Wash Wash- ington I must strongly disagree disagree disagree dis dis- dis- dis agree with him on this I have known many senators and congressmen congressmen congressmen con con- gressmen personally and to a aman aman aman man they have indicated their desire to hear from their con- con on current issues They say We are elected to represent and serve you folks at home How can we do that well unless we have some inkling inkling inkling ink ink- ling as to how you feel on matters They are exposed to tremendous pressures in Washington and they are better prepared to resist these pressures if they can point to toa toa toa a stack of letters and say This is what my constituents want me to do I have written numerous letters to Washington and every every every ev ev- ery one has been politely and intelligently answered with an invitation extended to write them my views on other is is- sues Sometimes they do not agree with my ideas and then they explain their position which is good for all concerned concerned con con- Some Congressmen even send out questionnaires to feel the pulse of the peo peo- pIe at home We should write to Washing Washing- ton We should be always on the alert For years year the Com- Com have been telling us in very plain language just what they intend to do to the United States and the rest of the world We have seen their plans materialize in many m ny countries Isn't it about time we start to believe them We should heed the advice of one of our great Founding Fathers viz Eternal lence is the price of liberty H.
