Show BCNP Outreach Is Successful BRYCE CANYON NATIONAL NATION-AL PARK The education and outreach programs offered by Bryce Canyon National Park and the Bryce Canyon Natural History Association experienced great success during the 1995-96 school year, due to the outstanding participation parti-cipation of the teachers and students in Garfield, Kane and Sevier counties. The programs offered local students included classroom visits, on-site and surrounding area field trips, a "Hoodoo" poster contest and a Star Party, conducted by Hansen Planetarium. A total of 1,186 students participated in these programs. Summer events for 1996 include two courses offered for Southern Utah University credit; a geology and ecology field trip from Bryce Canyon National Park to the North Rim of Grand Canyon National Park and a workshop entitled "Intrigue of the Past: Investigating Archaeology." Program planning is by Mala Henrie, education and outreach specialist at Bryce Canyon. |
