JoAnn Bessey, city coordinator for Little Buddy, matches Snow College students and an elementary age child from the Ephraim area. Students meet with their new little friends at least two hours per week. They keep a journal about occurrences between the student and their Little Buddy, and answer questions concerning activities, how the child reacted, how friendship is growing and whether the child trusts. The kids selected for Little Buddy usually come from singleparent families. Since most children in the program come from single mothers, "they need more for the class for guys to sign-u- p the kids to see a father figure," states Joe Jackson, a student who participates in the program.
